Fresh Frozen Tissue Samples

Samples Shipment
  1. Pack slide box well embedded in dry ice, at least 11 pounds (5 kg) within Europe, or 22 pounds (10 kg) from outside Europe, in a styrofoam box.
  2. Use the following shipment description: “buffer samples” or “goods not in circulation” (i.e. not commercial products) and use a low value for goods and customs declaration.
  3. Ship as International Priority First (or similar), ideally ship on Mondays, so it does not pause over a weekend.
  4. Shipment has to be marked as “dangerous goods” because of the dry ice – not anything inside the shipment. The exact phrasing may depend on what carrier they are using (e.g. Fedex, UPS…).

Formalin Fixed Paraffin Embedded (FFPE)  Tissue Samples

Samples Shipment
  1. Place your slide(s) in a slide holder and seal it with tape. Place the slide holder in a bubble wrap envelope at RT.
  2. Use the following shipment description: “buffer samples” or “goods not in circulation” (i.e. not commercial products) and use a low value for goods and customs declaration.
  3. Ship as International Priority First (or similar).
